Messaging with Fellow Members

How do I message fellow colleagues and TechTown Members? Can I contact other Members at TechTown

Messaging a fellow Member at TechTown is easy and can be done right within the member portal. Let's walk through this simple three-step process...

Step 1: Log Into The Members Portal & Navigate to the Messaging Module

You can find the Messaging module on the right-hand menu of our portal (See the image below, with menu options highlighted in green). Here, you can message any member with a public profile, and you can view messages sent to you (like messages from our Community Ambassador Team).

Step 2: Find an Existing Conversation or Start a New One

You can use the left-hand panel to choose from message threads you have already started, or you can click on the Plus icon, labeled "New message" to start a new conversation.

When you click on "New Message," the window to the right will show just below the 'Messages' heading, and a search bar labeled 'Search for Member" will appear. Click within that search bar and enter the name of the individual you'd like to talk with. Click on the member from the search results to continue.

Step 3: Write Your Message and Send It

Begin crafting your message and add any text or emojis you wish! You can also send your message as an email if you want to catch the ember's attention outside of the members portal by checking the 'Also send as mail' Once your message is ready, click on the blue send button.
